Capturing NZ

A selection of Iain Jaque's NZ photos

A selection of Iain Jaque’s NZ photos

In a previous post I chose my ten favourite photos that I’d taken in New Zealand. During the last couple of weeks I have been pouring over my friend Iain Jaques’ photos of the country.

Captured in just one month travelling around NZ, his photostream features 35mm pictures from Auckland & the Hauraki Gulf, Wellington, Tongariro National Park, Napier, Rotorua.

A Merry Christmas to you

Today we’re heading down to stay with friends on their rural dairy farm for Christmas. They are working so it’ll be a pretty low-key affair, but I’m looking forward to spending time with them in their scenic surroundings – and maybe giving them a hand with the cows. If the rain holds off, we’ll hopefully be BBQing on Christmas day. We went out for a turkey dinner this weekend – complete with crackers, mince pies and Christmas pud.

On Boxing Day we’re going across to Rotorua for a few days of tourism and relaxation. So far we have booked rainforest canopy tours, a visit to a thermal wonderland and zorbing! Rob is pretty excited about visiting Hobbiton and I’ll be checking into a Polynesian spa for a mud massage.

We’re back in Auckland to be (almost) first to see in the new year and watch the Sky Tower fireworks.

If you have read any of the posts on this blog this year, thank you.

Have a Merry Christmas and see you in the New Year!
